Prevalence of resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains in frozen meat and their control using phytosynthesized selenium nanoparticles

Staphylococcus aureus continually threatens the safety of meat products, especially multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains. The screening MDR S. prevalence in marketed products Saudi Arabia was conducted via molecular identification resistance genes (cfr, gyrA, and gyrB) that occurred isolated bacteria. green phytosynthesis selenium nanoparticles (Se-NPs) also conducted, using fruits’ extract Phyllanthus Emblica (PeE), for their evaluation as antibacterial nanocomposites against isolates. percentage (PP) samples 14.2%, where 9.2%. highest isolates attained from minced samples, whereas PP recorded sausages samples. PeE-synthesized Se-NPs had negative charges, spherical shapes, well-disperssion with mean diameters 11.98 nm. anti- activities PeE, phytosynthesized Se-NPs, composite (PeE/Se-NPs) were proved qualitatively quantitatively different standard strains, action PeE/Se-NPs strongest. treatment led to severe cells’ lyses/explosion after 8 h exposure. are recommended controlling meat.
